Skip to content Bengali Association of North Carolina BANC is a cultural, charitable, social, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Bengali culture, education and social activities in and around the state of North Carolina.

Recently, Probasi has become a registered Non-profit organization in North Carolina. Probasi has close ties with the Hindu Center of Charlotte, which is an organization and home for many charitable and educational activities including education on meditation, yoga, classical music, and a planned home for senior citizens. We are the oldest Bengali community in Charlotte, formed 40 years ago.

Our main goal is to foster a spirit of family, friendship, diversity and community between its members through cultural activities, social events, musical gatherings and religious festivals.

Apart from other Bengali festivals and pujas, like the naboborsho, saraswati Puja, Laxmi Puja, we celebrate the Bengali festival of Durga Puja every year through three days of religious and cultural events at the Vihar Hall at the Hindu Center of Charlotte.
