The Shade Tree is the largest shelter of its kind in the state and is the only hour accessible shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of women and their children in the region. The upper floors of our 38, square foot facility are residential areas with singles dorm rooms, family dorm rooms rooms, classrooms, communal bathrooms, and an acute care medical clinic.
The full basement is used for storing donations and shelter supplies. The Shade Tree is a c 3 non-profit organization. Our doors are open hours a day, to any woman, with or without children, and male and female unaccompanied youth who lack a safe, adequate place to live. From the moment you take that first step of courage to enter the shelter, you are guided on a path to help regain your dignity and identity, while escaping the cycle of homelessness or violence.
Our doors are also open to those facing economic hardships and homelessness. Summer Day Shelter: Clients can have a safe place to rest seven days a week during the hottest months of the year.
Summer day shelter includes two meals a day, showers, mail, laundry facility, bed, and clothing. Hours of operation 11a. Housing Assistance and advocacy begins during the initial intake process because of the importance of connecting families with affordable housing.
These classes provide information and guidance that will help them secure and retain affordable and safe housing. Mental Health Service Coordination Mental Health Service Coordination is provided by an experienced mental health staff member addressing mental health issues presented by our clients, making referrals to other community agencies as needed and serving as liaison to community based mental health programs.
Emergency Shelter Program The only hour accessible program in Southern Nevada designed specifically to meet the needs of the homeless up to a day stay. In these tough times, shelters are needing your donation help more than ever. Contact the shelters at the phone numbers provided to donate your items. Most shelters also are always looking for volunteers. Look to your homeless shelters for volunteer opportunities.
